I’m Lino Atem from South Sudan, I completed my education from Sudan University of Science and Technology in the Faculty of Engineering. After finishing my College of Engineering, I worked in government office in the Department of Industrial Development, After that, I left to work in private and established my own enterprises.
What I was doing
After leaving government office, I established a general trading company called “Tributaries for Investment Solutions Ltd, meanwhile I was also working in a Management Consulting firm “SIPET Engineering and Consulting as a Project Management Consultant. I also Co-founded a Business Development Consulting firm with my friend, we were focusing on carrying out feasibility studies and market research. However, due to the economic down turn in the country after the 2013, our business collapse because of exchange rates fluctuations. but I keep working in SIPET till I came to Japan last year. I had a considerable work experience and great array of skills sets that range from business understanding and analytics. I still hope and believe that South Sudan is a promising business hub for Japanese enterprises.
What I’m doing Currently
- Social Media
Apart from business domain and education, I have a good presence on social media; I manage some Facebook groups that bring people together to think about research called: “South Sudanese Researchers initiatives “, and another ABE South Sudanese Group, in addition to Management consulting group that discussed issues related to business management.
- Research: My research at APU Graduate School of Management focus on Investment Risk analysis with specific focus on Land Locked Countries(LLC) like South Sudan
What is My Plan After graduation
After completing my MAB at APU, I’m envisaging that I would like to take business risks by exploring African market for Japanese companies as per African Business Education Initiative Program that is sponsoring my scholarship. I would basically want to revamp my consulting firm (Insight Consulting Group(ICG) . After this MBA, I would be able to possess considerable work experience and great array of skills sets that range from business understanding through quantitative analysis and advanced analytics. I would want to participate and enrich a platform that bring information and business intelligence to Japanese companies.
